Policy Updates
From Kurt Edwards, Director General, IBAC on 27 January 2021: The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced an order that has gone into effect 26 January requiring all air passengers arriving to the US from a foreign country get tested no more than 3 days before their flight departs and to present the negative result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding the flight. Air passengers will also be required to confirm that the information they present is true in the form of an attestation. This order applies to all flights, including private flights and general aviation aircraft (charter flights). Passengers traveling by air into the US are required to have proof of testing regardless of flight type.
Additionally, travel bans for travelers who have been in the UK, Ireland, EU (Schengen area), Brazil and South Africa within 14 days of arriving in the U.S. have been extended. Crew travel in support of operations remains exempt but definitely recommend coordinating with airlines if moving crew around the globe.
