Member’s Update: HKBAC Receives the Pro Pilot Best Asian FBO Award for 13th Consecutive Year
AsBAA recently sat down with its member HKBAC to discuss some recent happenings at the company, including its 13th consecutive win of the Pro Pilot Best Asian FBO Award.
1. You recently won the Pro Pilot Best Asian FBO Award, what does this mean to HKBAC?
The Professional Pilot PRASE Survey is the gold standard of ground service leaders, so receiving the award for the 13th consecutive year is a huge accomplishment for HKBAC. We are especially proud to be recognised for such a milestone during this challenging time that many of us are facing in the aviation industry. HKBAC’s dedication to Safety, Service, and Style is part of the reason for our long-standing success in this global survey and we are tremendously grateful for the support of the clients, colleagues, and employees that have made it possible.
2. In Asia, what has it taken to sustain a strong reputation, despite lots of challenges?
Our commitment to always providing value, security, and safety is what sets us apart from others. We strive to retain the best talent available, and we offer professional training to equip our staff to handle routine and ad-hoc situations. Our professional qualifications are also a strong aspect of our ability to provide the best service to customers. HKBAC is audited by AAHK, CAD and Shell on different ground handling areas annually. We are also proud to be an ISBAH Stage II and Gulfstream certified FBO.
3. As the Greater Bay Area industry develops and Macau is being recognised as an alternative airport, how can Hong Kong retain its appeal?
Hong Kong is the leading and preferred business city in the Greater Bay Area region. There continues to be strong demand for Hong Kong with most businesses and individuals preferring a direct flight over regional alternatives. HKBAC recognises and encourages the development of the region and we support Hong Kong’s position as its central hub.
4. During these difficult times, how has HKBAC invested time and resources to build strength for future years?
We have always invested in professional development, safety training, and communications to ensure we are delivering a safe experience, while providing essential information. At this challenging time, we deployed additional manpower to assist our inbound passengers to complete COVID19 safety measures imposed by HKSAR. For many of our customers with grounded aircraft, we have encouraged and supported maintenance and disinfection services. HKBAC also liaises with the authorities in Hong Kong, gathering vital data on COVID-19 arrangements for operators and travellers. We share this data on our LinkedIn and website, ensuring our clients always have access to the most up-to-date information.
5. AsBAA is celebrating its 20 year anniversary in 2020. As one of the few organisations that has surpassed this milestone already, what advice do you have to AsBAA members?
Congratulations to AsBAA! HKBAC has worked closely with AsBAA over the years and we offer our sincere praise for reaching this important milestone. HKBAC was one of the founding members of AsBAA 20 years ago and it is our honour to continue to grow together. With a joint effort through AsBAA, HKBAC is committed to developing a stronger Business Aviation industry for many years to come.
