Airshow China Engages Nam Kwong, Boosting Show’s Caliber and Greater Bay Area Cooperation

The China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, commonly known as Airshow China or the Zhuhai Airshow, kicked off a new partnership with the exhibition unit of Nam Kwong Group at a remote signing session on June 9th. This marks the first collaboration with the Zhuhai Airshow for Nam Kwong, located only a short distance across the narrow waters in Macao.

The partnership demonstrates Airshow China’s continued success at wooing “heavy hitter” exhibitors, service providers, and international players. At the same time, it also embodies the deep integration of the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

Nam Kwong’s subsidiary involved in the new partnership is Nam Kwong International Exhibition Co., Ltd (NKICE), an established show organizer in Macao. NKICE’s core services include organizing international exhibitions and high-end forums and exhibition construction. For Airshow China 2020, NKICE will carry out general promotion, trade visitor attraction, industry forum organization, and exhibition services. NKICE will recruit aggressively from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Macao S.A.R., and from Portuguese-speaking nations, giving full play to the Macao company’s geographical, linguistic, and economic advantages.

In another important development, Airshow China 2020 will undergo a transformation into a “smart” airshow. With the support of China Telecom’s advanced 5G technology, exhibitors and visitors will enjoy unprecedented digital and intelligent exhibition features. According to reports, at present, nearly 500 well-known Chinese and international aviation and aerospace companies have confirmed their participation in this year’s Airshow. The Airshow shared that floor-planning has been completed for over 95% of the 100,000 square meter indoor exhibition area.

Song Xiaodong, Deputy General Manager of Nam Kwong Group and President of NKICE, expressed that a major event like Airshow China is a calling card for Zhuhai and enhances the city’s influence internationally. Song added that “In the future, there will be closer cooperation between MBAE and Airshow China, such as scheduling coordination between the two aviation shows.” The Macau Business Aviation Exhibition (MBAE), jointly organized by Nam Kwong Group and several state-owned enterprises, has been held for eight consecutive years, and its influence and popularity in the industry are also increasing. With the interdependence of Zhuhai and Macao, the future looks bright for cooperation between the two regions in the exhibition field.

The new partnership has significance on another level. NKICE’s “tying the knot” with Airshow China is a stirring embodiment of China’s campaign to catalyze development in the Greater Bay Area and Macao in particular. Since Beijing issued the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Development Plan Outline, companies in Zhuhai and Macao have answered the call, seizing opportunities, innovating, and actively exploring new models of cooperation between the Greater Bay Area cities.

“The cooperation between Zhuhai Airshow Co., Ltd. and Nam Kwong International Exhibition Co., Ltd. will not be limited to the current airshow. In the future, the cooperation will continue to expand and deepen, giving full play to both parties’ strengths and advancing the integrated development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,” said Sun Jiefeng, president and general manager of Zhuhai Airshow Co., Ltd.
