Patrick Roa

Philippines Chapter Chair

Member, Board of Directors

Currently serving as the AsBAA Chapter Chair for the Philippines, Patrick is an experienced pilot with over 13,000 hours of total flight time in various aircraft types. He also was part of management handling Safety and Security for an LCC. He is a teacher at heart and continues to mentor and coach aspiring pilots and experienced aviators. As AsBAA Chapter Chair for the Philippines, Patrick has bolstered the camaraderie of the Chapter, and even in the face of the pandemic, Philippine business aviation has never been as alive and thriving.

Patrick’s passion for safety extends beyond the flight deck. He has been instrumental in nurturing AsBAA’s Aircrew Mental Health initiative since its founding in 2021, and most recently served as a speaker and panelist for the AsBAA Singapore Safety Day 2022’s Aircrew Mental Health session. On behalf of AsBAA, Patrick advised the Philippines government on the formation of the Philippine Transportation Safety Board (PTSB), lobbied for the Philippine’s involvement in the Cape Town Treaty, and was vital in kickstarting AsBAA’s Illegal Charter Reporting System (ICRS), Asia’s first initiative to combat systemic illegal charter.

Patrick has also frequently used his own time and resources to support AsBAA Discovery activities in the Philippines as a volunteer. Just one example of this is his participation in the monthly Wingbox/Canopy x AsBAA webinars for university students in aviation and engineering, which has reached over 4,000 unique students in the Philippines since 2021.

Patrick resides in Manila with his wife and children. He is a triathlete who has completed numerous local races. Since the pandemic put a halt to those events, his chief recreational activities have been biking around the city and spending time with family over popcorn and Netflix.
