- a) Hong Kong International Airport – Strategy for handling future
traffic growth
- i) HKIA Slots and Parking
PB gave an update: HKCAD and AA are arranging for the next BA slot meeting, tentatively to take place in Jun. The date is TBA. Also, we want to widen the agenda of this meeting.
Access for wet washes: DD mentioned an aircraft that cost USD $3 million to fix corrosion due largely to lack of cleaning and bright work. Insufficient cleaning results in high corrosion repair costs.
DQ questioned the lack of HKCAD performing aircraft ramp checks on business jets at HKIA. Grey charter is a real issue, and ramp checks are important to stamp out grey charter activities.

- ii) Long term strategy for overflow of HKIA business aviation
PB Jun traffic – Update
PB: Alan Shum of HKCAD suggested we can raise cross border during next Business Aviation / Authorities meeting. We will pitch the proposed safety day during the meeting.
- b) Hong Kong AOC – Private versus Commercial Operations
DD suggested we need to clearly define ourselves as business aviation, but not general aviation.
MW mentioned that we are continue talking with the HKCAD. And we need to come back to HKCAD with the proposal. PB: We will respond to the HKCAD during June 2018.

Gary Moran called in from Singapore during the meeting while they were having its Chapter meeting at the same time.
- i) Philippines
MM gave an update: About 25 attendees attended the last Philippines Meeting. DG open to AsBAA and IBAC accreditation being accepted as a means of compliance. Kurt Edwards will be meeting with DG of CAAP on 28 Aug 2018. – San Miguel Airport proposal has apparently been
accepted. No business aviation activities planned. – Manila Airport – Unsolicited proposal for overhaul. No
business aviation included in proposal. – Permits back to 72 hours at present – DW suggests annual permit

- Discover Day at ABACE
RT gave an update: AsBAA had successfully held a Career Talk at Tsing Yi IVE on 27 Apr 2018. There were about 200 students attended. Representatives from HKBAC and Universal Weather & Aviation have presented and introduced their company, the industry, the operations and the opportunities.
