ACJ and Richard Mille have launched a new travel-watch, inspired by and adapted to exclusive journeys on an Airbus corporate jet. Called the RM 62-01 Tourbillon Vibrating Alarm ACJ, the new watch’s innovative features include a discreet alarm that alerts the wearer through vibrations that only they can feel. The watch is a true creation of the best of both ACJ and Richard Mille. It encapsulates the pioneering, proven and industry-leading expertise from two companies, known for delivering the highest standards and most exclusive customer experiences in their industries. The partnership is built on a shared passion for new technology and innovation that pushes the boundaries.

Innovation takes many forms but in its essence it involves introducing something new or different. At Asian Sky Media, we have to do this every year: redesigning the information we provide and reinventing how we deliver it. How well we do this drives how well we succeed.
As our industry continues to evolve & change year to year, there is different content and data we need to delve into. In 2019 consequently, Asian Sky Media explored a new topic and through a new series of reports called “New GA Tech”, which covered emerging technologies in the general aviation sector, focusing on eVTOL, unmanned and aerial vehicles and urban air mobility.
We also introduced ‘Asian Skycast’ a new multimedia channel aimed at bringing insight directly to you from aviation professionals and business executives in the region. This new integrated platform allows listeners to hear the stories and backgrounds of those that helped shape the industry and those that are advancing it, with this content now being delivered and digestible through multiple formats — long-form reading, quick snippets via blog posts, with visually appealing graphics on social media and anywhere you can download a podcast.

Handling request made easy in Hong Kong with HKBAC Connect
Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre (HKBAC) is Asia’s FBO, proudly serving the region since 1998. A pioneer of the industry, HKBAC believes that innovation can only be successfully achieved with a parallel commitment to Safety, Service, and Style.
In February 2017, HKBAC launched HKBAC Connect. The innovative platform now has over 500 active users with 150 registered companies including operators and trip planners locally and globally. The platform has a 24/7 online customer portal replacing traditional email and call communications channels to drive business efficiency, enabling our clients to do more.
HKBAC continually invests in its own innovation, having developed HKBAC Connect following years of research and experience to meet the needs of the dynamic business aviation industry. In Q4 of 2019, version 2.0 of HKBAC will launch.
Reduced Inter-GBA travel time from 120 to 30 minutes in 2019
In addition to our commitment to enhancing and simplifying our customer experience, we actively seek opportunities for our industry to expand. In 2019, HKBAC conducted the first cross boundary helicopter flight between Hong Kong and Zhuhai, dramatically improving intra-Greater Bay Area connectivity.
This maiden inter-airport helicopter flight took just 30 minutes, significantly enhancing connectivity and convenience for business and other travellers in the GBA, and further optimising the synergy in the region. Hong Kong is Asia’s World City and HKBAC is proud to provide best-in-class services to the community.
First FBO in Asian with Fuel Hydrant Refuelling System
HKBAC has also invested in an innovative Fuel Hydrant Refuelling System to enhance efficiency for our clients. The system is especially beneficial for long-haul and large aircraft and shortens fuelling time by around an hour. Aircraft no longer have to rely on fuel trucks and can make more efficient trips, saving time by refuelling at different locations simultaneously. HKBAC’s innovative hydrant refuelling system provide support to all aircraft models including, Airbus Corporate Jet (ACJ), Boeing Business Jets (BBJ), Bombardier Global Express and Gulfstream.
JSSI, the leading independent provider of maintenance support and financial services to the aviation industry, delivered a new level of market intelligence to the business aviation community in 2018-2019 via a series of strategic acquisitions and the introduction of new products and services to support the full aircraft life cycle.
In 2018, JSSI announced the acquisition of aviation data specialists Conklin & de Decker. JSSI has since implemented product advancements that streamline access to the most trusted aircraft comparison data available, including a new mobile app. The launch of the Conklin & de Decker Report represents a significant leap forward in technology-driven advances and combines decades of experience and data in one interactive aircraft comparison report.
In 2019, JSSI announced the acquisition of MRO software specialist Tracware to further enhance its growing suite of technology-enabled services. Tracware’s comprehensive understanding of the specific processes and requirements MRO businesses need to thrive operationally presents many opportunities to deliver additional technology enhancements.
With JSSI Parts & Leasing and JSSI Advisory Services, JSSI is providing enhanced data and ownership insight and solutions for every stage of ownership—from acquisition planning, aircraft inspections and hourly cost maintenance to event management, parts, leasing, appraisals and tear downs.
This year we launched the innovative SD PostFlight, the first automated flight log solution. Today’s aircraft are high-tech assets that are rich in data, yet they are managed by antiquated processes on the ground. SD PostFlight auto-captures flight times and cycle events, which gives flight department personnel real-time visibility and keeps them in sync with their aircraft at all times. The auto-capture of data reduces human error due to calculations and transcription, and it creates an electronic record for the entire life of the aircraft. These precise calculations drive efficiencies, enhance operational safety, and can even reduce a flight department’s operating costs.
SD PostFlight, powered by SD’s FlightDeck Freedom (FDF) datalink service, captures data into SD’s Movement Report Database. From there, the raw data is processes into accurate, usable SD PostFlight data. Users still have control over the data and can make edits before verifying flight leg data. SD PostFlight is easily accessed exclusively through SD Pro and offline via the SD Crew app. Team members can access information from three primary screens – fleet overview, trip list and trip details – allowing them to view high-level summary data or detailed flight events for each leg of a trip. SD PostFlight is also integrated with CAMP, FlightDocs, and Rolls-Royce – meaning customers can elect to send the verified data directly into those platforms, reducing another layer of manual input and streamlining key processes for flight operations.

True to its motto TAG Aviation has launched a unique and comprehensive mobile Application (App) for its Aircraft Management clients. The App is available in English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese for Android or Apple devices.
Using the new App, clients can check their flight schedule enabling faster and easier oversight of client operations as it displays upcoming, current and past flight status. Clients can easily access comprehensive information including aircraft availability, destination information, crew information, maintenance events, accounting status etc. Another feature of the App is a push notification function. Clients can receive instant aircraft updates such as weather reports and airport news updates.
When launching the App clients are greeted by a clean and contemporary interface depicting a photo of their aircraft embedded into the design layout to render a modern and sleek look.

In October 2019, UAS Co-Owner/Founder and CEO Omar Hosari set out to raise awareness of sustainable aviation. Traveling to Tanzania to climb Africa’s tallest peak Mount Kilimanjaro, Omar’s challenge mirrored that which climate change presents to the world. At a time when the damaging effects of carbon emissions poses a massive threat to our planet, it’s incumbent on business leaders and industries to take the lead and find sustainable alternatives. Aviation has long been a target for negative press on environmental issues due to its heavy carbon footprint, but what is lesser known is that there has been great efforts made within the aviation community to identify ways of becoming more carbon neutral and reducing any damaging environmental impact… sustainable aviation fuels, for example. These amazing strides are exactly what Omar’s challenge set out to highlight. His climb, backed by IBAC, AsBAA, and MEBAA, shows how the industry is doing all it can to make itself as green and as future-proof as possible. Omar also set out to raise funds. For every meter climbed he donated one dollar to IBAC sustainability awareness and education programs, the first of which will take place at ABACE2020 in coordination with AsBAA.

Sustainability – Since 2015, World Fuel Services has been an early investor in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) delivering over 14 million gallons of renewable jet fuel to commercial and business aviation. World Fuel has developed the technical and logistical expertise to secure, blend, and supply the new fuel. In 2019, World Fuel provided SAF to the Van Nuys and Farnborough Airport SAF events. They supported the demonstrations by showcasing the drop-in technical capability of sustainable fuels while promoting increased use within the aviation industry.
