The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) hired Bennet Walsh to become its next director of the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) programs. Walsh takes over from Sonnie Bates, who recently joined Baldwin Aviation.
Walsh brings a background in both operations and safety to his new role, previously serving as senior vice president of safety and operations for Jet Edge International in Van Nuys, Calif. Under his guidance, Jet Edge became one of the first charter operators to join an Aviation Safety Action Program. He has also served as an auditor for Argus and as a pilot and simulator instructor for Delta Air Lines, as well as a pilot for a corporate flight department.
“IBAC is pleased to have Ben lead this critical program,” said IBAC director general Kurt Edwards. “He brings a wealth of experience as a former pilot flying international routes and as an executive responsible for the safety of a fast-growing, international charter operator.”
